Keepless Nights is a visual novel where you play through the daily life of a protagonist with agoraphobia and social anxiety, seeing the world through the eyes of someone who is afraid to open them self up to others. Every day, you will have choices you can make that will allow you to decide if you want to risk putting yourself out there, or stay within the comfort and solace of your isolated tower. Each choice that you make will affect the outcome of the story, pulling you towards a more open, or more isolated view of the world around you. Keepless Nights allows players to simulate intentionally stressful situations for someone who is socially anxious. The goal is to help players realize they are not alone in their fears, experience such situations in a safe space, and encourage them to keep themselves open to new people and possibilities. Will you receive your experiences and interactions openly, or choose to remain closed off and remain a prisoner of your own mind?

Game Jam Theme: Social Impact and "ruin"

Argument:

In our game, Keepless Nights, the player guides the protagonist through their daily life, making choices that will either build up or tear down their metaphorical walls, using a physical manifestation of a tower to represent this. As the game progresses, either the character’s social life will fall to ruin as they continue to isolate them self more and more, or, their metaphorical walls will crumble, allowing them to be more opened to others and causing the tower they have built to fall to ruins
